As far back as she can remember, Brandi wanted to work with animals. The feeling she gets when a pet wags their tail upon seeing her or cuddles up in her arms is priceless! Brandi now serves as The Animal Hospital at Lake Brandt’s Office Manager.
Ann’s husband, Dr. Jernigan, became the sole owner of The Animal Hospital at Lake Brandt in 2010. She was thrilled when he asked her to help with the clinic’s finances and bookkeeping! Being able to work with her husband and the compassionate staff of the hospital makes every day rewarding and fulfilling.
Jennifer grew up on a small farm in Ruffin, North Carolina. There, she was surrounded by dogs, cats, horses, and cows, which sparked her interest in veterinary medicine. By the time she was in high school, Jennifer was working on a horse farm. There was no question about what she wanted to do after graduation: a career in the animal care world was the only choice that made sense!
A Greensboro native, Aaron began his veterinary career at another local animal hospital before spending a few years serving at a spay-and-neuter clinic. After completing an internship at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, Aaron returned to veterinary work and signed onto The Animal Hospital at Lake Brandt team in early 2014.
Growing up, Michelle always had a love for animals. She was also fascinated by medicine. What better way to combine her passion and interests, Michelle thought, than by working in the veterinary field?
Kayla grew up on horseback right here in Summerfield, and was always surrounded by everything from dogs and cats to goats, chickens, cows, and sheep. When her own horse, Sly, developed a hoof infection during Kayla’s childhood, the local veterinarians set to work returning the horse to good health. Watching Sly recover fully made a permanent impression on Kayla—she knew that she would love to work in the field of animal care herself!
Registered Veterinary Technician
For as long as she can remember, Devon has wanted to do everything in her power to lend a helping hand to animals. She strives every day to be the veterinary professional that she would want her own cats at home to have! Devon serves the area’s animal companions here at The Animal Hospital at Lake Brandt as a Registered Veterinary Technician.
When she moved from Rockford, Illinois to Greensboro in 2002, Gina began looking for work in her previous field, mental health. In her spare time, she started volunteering at the Guilford County Animal Shelter. Gina ended up enjoying it so much that she decided to look for a career in the veterinary field instead!
Lily feels that she has a gift for working with people and understanding their wants and needs. Since she’d always had a soft spot for animals, she realized that working in the veterinary field was a great way to help both pet owners and their furry companions!
Abby always considered herself a “people person,” and she knew that a receptionist job would be right up her alley. When a friend referred her to The Animal Hospital at Lake Brandt, she jumped at the opportunity to work in the veterinary profession!
Bree’s terrier mix, Delilah, used to be abused and was extremely nervous around people. After Bree adopted her and the pair spent some time together, Delilah started to trust again. Now Bree feels a connection with her dog that she’s never felt with any other pet! Witnessing Delilah’s transformation made Bree want to help other animals by working in the veterinary field.
Taza grew up in Greensboro, North Carolina, where her passion for animal care was ignited in the third grade. She rescued a timid young Chihuahua named Lucy, who quickly became Taza’s best friend and close confidant. Working with Lucy over the years made one thing quite clear to Taza: a career in veterinary medicine was the perfect fit for her!
Jeni is a native of Stokesdale, North Carolina, where she grew up with plenty of family pets. It wasn’t difficult for her to develop a passion for animal care early on in life—she’s adored pets ever since she can remember! Working as a veterinary professional provides Jeni with the chance to give something back to the animal companions of the area while enjoying a fast-paced and fulfilling career.
Since the age of 12, Lauren volunteered at the Guilford County Animal Shelter. From her first day, she knew that working with pets was the career for her! Now she serves as a professional groomer here at The Animal Hospital at Lake Brandt.
